Joyce Frazier, the woman who legitimately married WWF star Uncle Elmer (Stan Frazier) in a much-ballyhooed wedding on NBC in 1985, died on March 29, 2004 in Akron, Ohio. She was in her early 60s.

Saturday Night Live to their best advantage, and no expense was spared. The dress alone was appraised at $7,800.00, and Andre the Giant (who served as part of the wedding entourage) was paid main event money for his appearance. Tiny Tim, who married 17 years earlier on NBC, was also added to the event.
A lot of people have questioned the legitimacy of the nuptials, given the storyline that was tagged along with the event… but it was certainly real. (The Fraziers repeated the ceremony backstage under their real names, for legal reasons.) 1986 at the Mid-South Coliseum, they renewed their vows.
Joyce frequently traveled with her husband as he toured with the WWF (1985-85), which is a true rarity in the business. And Joyce was certainly well-remembered -- fans still asked her for her autograph nearly 20 years after the marriage.
